Access To The Internet

Profiting From Writting Your Own Ebook July 14, 2008

Filed under: Book Mall @ 3:17 am

As you might have heard, the Internet is all about information. Millions of people logon to the Internet each day searching for information. They’re searching for everything from health and wellness to love and relationships. People crave information and will pay to get the info they want.

That’s why ebooks are the hottest products on the Internet. It’s digital information that’s downloadable and therefore brings instant gratification to the user. In just a matter of minutes, you can have expert knowledge saved on your hard drive that you can read at your leisure. It can be printed out and made into a regular book. It’s an incredible medium for writers and experts who would have before the Internet needed a publisher or magazine to print and sell their knowledge in book form.

The good news is just about anyone can write an ebook and sell it on the internet with virtually no cost. If you happen to be an expert on a particular subject then that’s a definite plus but you need not be an expert on a subject to write an ebook. If you think that sounds ridiculous, just think back to your school days. How many times were you given an assignment to write a lengthy report on a subject you knew nothing about? I remember writing several reports in high school and college on subjects I knew nothing about. The end result was always a report that read like an expert on the subject had written it. How did I do it? Research of course. That’s how we all did it. That was the whole purpose of the assignment. It was teaching you to conduct your own research and fact finding and then compiling that research into a report. You can use this same technique to write an ebook.

I’m going to reveal my age here. I remember way back in the 70’s seeing an ad in a magazine for this rather interesting book. It was titled “How to Pick Up Women.” It could only be bought through mail order. Unlike most books of the time the author of this book had an idea for a book that contained valuable information. Well, it was valuable to a whole lot of young men. The problem was that he was no expert on picking up women. So how did he write the book? Once again, research. Only this time the research involved conducting actual interviews with young women. That’s right. He just went out and started interviewing the average woman on the street. He asked questions like “what attracts you to a man?” and “what characteristics to you find sexy in a man?” Interestingly enough, there were plenty of women who were willing to give a few minutes of their time to answer questions for a book.

After completing the interviews, he compiled the information into a book and then preceded to print copies of the book himself using an old printing press he had purchased. No publisher wanted to publish his book. They of course changed their minds when they saw how many of the books were selling. The author couldn’t keep up with the orders. It seemed there were many thousands of men who wanted this information.

Now, 30 years later nothing has really changed. People are still in search of information. The good news is that you need not purchase a printing press to publish a book. You just need a computer and the power of the Internet. You can write your own ebook and start profiting almost right away. You can sell your ebook over and over again at almost 100% profit.

Feeding Pocket Sugar Gliders July 10, 2008

Filed under: Animal Fun, Great Fun, Kiddie Stuff @ 7:19 am

Pocket sugar gliders are one of the funniest pets ever. They are very small and very funny to play with. However, you need to take care of them in order to keep them healthy.

The food issue is one of the problems that you should take care. When your pocket sugar glider eats the wrong food, their health will be in a dangerous position. You need to take care of their nutrition so that they can always play happily together with you.

First of all, you need to know that sugar gliders are omnivorous. They will eat anything you give them. Anything in front of your pocket sugar glider has a chance of being eaten.

You have to know that giving your pocket sugar glider the wrong food will hurt it. You have to give it the proper nutrition it needs.

Your pocket sugar glider only needs 3 basic types of nutrition. These are proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables and some supplements. Once you can get all these basic nutritional requirements taken care of, you can make sure your pocket sugar glider becomes even healthier.

A pocket sugar glider’s best food consists of at least 75% fruits, berries, and other plants. It needs all these fruits and vegetables as its main foods.

The other 25% will be food such as insects, baby birds, bird eggs and other smaller animals. If your glider eats too much live food or meat, it could develop a musky odor. However, searching for live food for your pocket sugar glider could be very hard. If you cannot find such “food” in your environment, it is better to search the internet and buy more readily accessible sugar glider food.

UAW Daimler Chrysler 400: March Madness July 9, 2008

Filed under: University of Sports @ 10:30 pm

Are they still racing stock cars?

It seems like a loooong time since Daytona, doesn’t it? When the Smokeless Set takes the checkers at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Sunday afternoon, it’ll have been a full three weeks since the 500, a span during which the boys held a boring Fontana race that saw the stands half-filled, and then took a week off to celebrate, uh, some Christian holiday I probably don’t understand. And it’s not exactly the time of year that’s going to make the public rush out and think “NASCAR.” A mere few hours after the race on Sunday, the NCAA will announce its March Madness brackets, sending stock-car racing toward the kind of anonymity it experiences only one other time each year: when the NFL kicks off.

Nevertheless, Nextel Cup racing is about to get good. The flattish-tracked Vegas race has the potential to be a bit strung-out and boring, but there have been several good events here. Even better, the boys head down to ridiculously fast Atlanta next week, and then comes Thunder Alley in Bristol. Three more different driving experiences, you’re not likely to find.

What can we say about Vegas? (I mean: what can we say about the track. I know what we can say about the city. It’s fun. And where’s my wallet?) The 1.5-miler in the desert doesn’t drive anything like the high-banked 1.5-milers in places like Texas, Charlotte or Atlanta. Its corners are banked a mere 12 degrees, which puts it on par with venues like New Hampshire and (believe it or not) Martinsville. When looking for comparisons, I like Loudon as the most direct resemblance, but I’ll take a look at patterns from all three other “flatties,” too: Phoenix, Martinsville and Richmond. None of these tracks are as big or as wide as Vegas, however; this place is its own entity.

Matt Kenseth won the 2003 and 2004 events, and was a heavy favorite to three-peat before finishing eighth here last spring. Jimmie Johnson was king in the desert a year ago: he led five times for a total of 107 laps, and put an end to Kenseth’s streak. The Smokeless Set has only been running here since 1998, and has only featured six winners: Kenseth, Johnson, Mark Martin (‘98), Jeff Burton (‘99 and ‘00), Jeff Gordon (‘01) and Sterling Marlin (‘02). Burton’s dominance here came at a time when he was lapping the field at both Phoenix and New Hampshire, which gives those track comparisons even more credence. So who’ll roll nothing but sevens on Sunday? Read on.

Two weeks ago: Greg Biffle dominated the first Fontana event, but blew up late, and when he did, I threw stuff around my apartment. However, Biffle’s loss was my gain: his teammate Kenseth, whom I’d also selected and at more favorable odds, took the lead after The Biff failed, and won the event outright. Considering I also had Kenseth over Tony Stewart, it was a double-win for me: +4.44 units for the week. That puts me at +1.44 for the season.

Benidorm – Spanish Holidays Around The Costa Blanca

Filed under: Great Travel Tips @ 2:51 am

Benidorm, which is located just 20 minutes north of the city of Alicante on the Costa Blanca coast Spain, is such as action-packed city. Even though it has a beautiful stretch of soft sandy beaches, we should leave this leisure activity for the end because there are so many kinds of tourist parks to visit around Benidorm.

The biggest Attraction around Benidorm: Terra Mitica

This park in English is called ‘Mythical Land’, because it is a theme park which takes us back to the ancient civilizations of Rome, Egypt and Greece, all of which were Mediterranean civilizations. As we all know, the heroes from those times were very brave, not letting anything or anyone frighten them. Do you think you will be like them after having ridden on the topsy turvy roller coaster? Or controlling your heartbeat after riding on many of the other attractions especially set up for you? Maybe you think you will recover a little after watching one of the gladiator shows? Your adrenalin will be pumping fast with all the professional actors making ancient life come so close to you. There is also a part of this park for adventurous kids too. Terra Mitica is open all year round; from November to April it is only open at the weekends and on Spanish holidays. The entrance fee is approximately 40 euros but if you go in groups consult prices. Terra Mitica is found just five minutes north of Benidorm, easily accessible by bus or car.

Aqualandia Water Amusement Park

So you want to cool down a little but the beach is not your cup of tea? Here at Aqualandia you can enjoy a days outing with the whole family. The children can slide down all the water slides as many times as they wish, always being well cared for by the lifeguards on duty. There are water shutes of every size, diving board areas, rapidly moving waters and even a black hole. For the sun beauties like mum and grandma, you can lay around on comfortable hammocks and enjoy a picnic lunch in the shaded areas. It is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is located on the north entrance hillside to Benidorm.

Another view on the Costa Blanca at the Terra Natura Park

This is not like any other wildlife park. Here, there are four theme areas and a water park. 1.500 animals of over 200 species, 50 of which are in danger of extinction. What a privilege to be the lucky ones to see these living specimens up close! And not only these animals but their natural habitats and fauna which makes their living quarters appropriate for them. As you enter the park, the first area to visit is the Pangea, taking you back in time to hen there were rivers petrified from hot burning lava, abundant vegetation hiding gigantic insects and many other surprises. To the left you are carried away to America, discovering an old mine converted into a tropical farm. The colorful macaws are found in the dove cove and later on the old joins the new in the colonial town of Copaltenango. In the center is Asia.

As you stroll through the natural reserve of Kaziranga, you are able to see rhinoceros, buffalos and the temple of the wildcats. In this section there is a marvelous park for children to play in. And last, but of course not least, is Europe. In the town of Kalicameni, white-washed and full of comedians and natives singing their local songs. All this may sound tiring, but there are many a new food to be tried and a thirst-quenching drink to be had at any of the fabulous restaurants. And for those who need an extra thrill, in the Mare Nostrum waterway, you are fully equipped to have splash with live sharks! Terra Natura is open all year round, offering special passes for those who know how to appreciate a good opportunity and to take advantage of it as often as possible.

Benidorm and the Doliphins at the Mundomar Marine Animal Park

Do you enjoy the water and its interesting animal kingdom but prefer to be on land? Then Mundomar (Seaworld) Marine Animal park is your best bet. All of us have read adventure stories about dolphins and feel that they are our friends, well it’s time to visit them. Here we can see the silly antics of these adorable sea creatures close up. Or chat up a conversation with the colourful parrots. The elegance and grace is personified with the exhibition of flamingos, so pink! Who has not had a turtle in their home as a pet, but to see ones that you could probably ride is another surprise. But, are you still even more curious and want to see what the marine world is like under the water. Well, we can all become Ariel, or Sebastian as in the Little Mermaid book and go down into a ship and have a look around the sea bottom. Refreshments and resting places are abundant. It is open at 10:00 a.m., adults are 18 euros, children 3-12 years old 12 euros and under 3 are free. The entrance is near the cross roads of Avenue Mediterranean and Avenue Europe. Do not miss this amazing experience!

Between Pego and Oliva: The Vergel Park

If your travels have taken you along the coast heading towards Valencia, then it would be well worth making a stop off highway A-7 exit no. 61 which indicates the towns of Pego and Oliva and just follow the signs to this safari park, found near Ondara. There are all kinds of wild animals to be touched, fed and observed. For a little extra fun time activity, the kids can let their hair fly in the wind when riding a go kart, mini train or ponies. There are even some marine animals like dolphins and sea lions. It is a relaxing and educational day excursion for the whole family. It is only open in the summer from 10:00 in the morning til 7:00 in the evening.

Cactuslandia

Once again, you do not have to hire a camel and head into the dry desert to appreciate the wide selection of over 1000 cactus plants and similar shrubs. This is a private garden created by a German who was and is interested in the theme of cactii and tropical plants like banana trees, papaya, and mango. Also on this 3000m2 rugged hillside surface is an amazing museum which he put together and includes an extensive collection shells, different colored corals, unusual insects from all over the world and even some fossils.

Looking at this huge selection of theme parks and tourist attractions around Benidorm and the Costa Blanca, you certainly will find your favourite one on your next holidays around the spanish coast. Make your stay in Benidorm a complete one and visit each and every one, all unique.

Is a Vacation Home Right for You? July 7, 2008

Filed under: Real Estate Portal @ 8:43 pm

Many of us dream about owning the vacation home in the Mountains, or on the Lake or Ocean. A place where one can retreat periodically from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. However, for those who do achieve the financial resources to make such a purchase, there are several factors that should be considered first prior to taking the plunge.

Owning a Vacation Home can be a wonderful experience, but it is a huge commitment and responsibility. When one first thinks of owning a Vacation Home, we think of only the positives, such as a quiet remote location where we can get away from it all. A place where we can swim, fish, hike, and ski. Unfortunately for many, they forget about the other realities: location and travel time, upkeep and the associated costs, high property taxes, their children’s school and other home activities, guests. All of these put stress on the new Vacation Home owner, and how they prepare ahead of time to address these issues determines how enjoyable their new purchase will be.

The first item to consider when purchasing a Vacation Home is location. Is it near enough from your main home such that you can enjoy it regularly enough? If not, consider another investment. The last thing you want to do is make a huge investment in property that you can not regularly enjoy. Though real estate has always been considered a good investment it is not considered liquid, and expensive vacation homes can take a long time to sell.

Cost of upkeep and property taxes should also be heavily considered. Maintaining a vacation home is not cheap and the local town officials love to hit the vacation homes hard with property tax bills.

One also needs to consider his or her own weekend responsibilities and those of their children. Sports team events, clubs and organizations as well as maintaining the main house will eat into the time available to head to the weekend get-away. And if you have teenagers, they have their own dates and plans. Be prepared, more times than not, for having to forgo the weekend retreat for your children and other responsibilities.

One of the other aspects of owning a Vacation Home is having guests. This is a double edge sword. You want to have guests to share in your retreat. However, the upkeep, food and cooking can become overwhelming. Also, when guests visit, they are on vacation, but you may not necessarily be. It is important to let friends and families understand this, otherwise prepare for unexpected meals outs and other activities.

Owning a Vacation Home can be, and is for most, a wonderful experience. Those who truly enjoy them, usually have to go thru an adjustment cycle. First the euphoria phase, followed by a frustration and exhaustion phase, and finally the true enjoyment stage. The enjoyment phase occurs when one has developed a balance between the pros of owning a vacation home and the other responsibilities of their lives.

Australian 2-up MLM Compensation Plan? You May As Well Get a Lobotomy!

Filed under: Marketing Tips @ 1:58 am

The numbers have been proven over the decades. Part-time network marketers, without a system, will sponsor 2.7 people into any business. That’s why it’s so incredible that there are dozens of MLMs where you give away your first 2 sponsored people.

It’s called an Australian 2-up. You give up your first 2 sponsored people to your upline. You don’t get any commission from them, ever. It all goes to your upline.

An Aussie 2-up is always, always, always associated with a one-time sale. So there are no residuals. The income usually flows entirely from selling the one product to new people. There may be other products, but one single product accounts for 99% of the business volume. The Aussie 2-up compensation plan is usually associated with a $1,000, $2,000, $5,000, $10,000, $25,000 package.

An Aussie 2-up Product Package Is Always Information

It’s never the type of product you’d expect in a traditional MLM.

Some network marketing companies sell a benefits package, a discount dental program, discount legal program, etc. The big problem with such products is that traditionally, a high percentage of customers never uses the product, and they drop out quickly. So they never see the value. If your customers don’t experience the product, you won’t have a very high retention rate.

It’s the same with an Aussie 2-up. That comp plan is always associated with a one-time sale. And if average people only ever sponsor 2.7 people … and if the first 2 of those sales (and new reps) go to your sponsor … then you understand why this compensation plan never works for the average part-time network marketer.

Who Does It Work For?

The Aussie 2-up works fine for that “A” type personality, that hard-driving, closing, selling, “bodies laying in the street” sponsor monster … THAT person is fantastic in an Australian 2-up, because they can build it.

But it’s not for YOU. You will never be successful with it. The numbers don’t lie.

So why do people get so excited about the Aussie 2-up?

They get sold on the idea that they’ll get rich somehow off all the people who will will get passed up to them, AFTER they pass their 2 to their sponsor. They get sold on the hype. The reality is, they never get the first 2 to give them their 2.

Here’s The Magic

Every compensation plan drives a certain behavior in the field. An Aussie 2-up is always about the front-end big ticket item. It is never a plan that creates residual income.

There’s never a monthly autoship, no back-end product consumption. We talk about companies looking for the “purple cow,” the remarkable product. You never find a product like that with an Aussie 2-up compensation plan.

This plan is strictly for the “A” type personality. And they do their darnedest to convince YOU that you can change, that you can become this hard-driving salesperson … but I have 2 questions for you:

1. Do you really believe that your current personality isn’t good enough?

2. Can you really picture yourself spending every day, the rest of your life, as that pushy, aggressive, churn & burn salesperson, willing to say anything, do anything, all to get a sale?

The only way that’ll work for you is to first get a lobotomy. Otherwise, you are absolutly not going to do it. You may think you can, but you can’t, because it goes 100% against your nature. And after it doesn’t work, you’ll feel like a loser, because you can’t do “whatever it takes” to be successful.

To be successful, don’t put yourself in a situation where you are 100% certain to fail … and that’s where you are with an Aussie 2-up compensation plan.

Keep looking. There are good network marketing companies with comp plans that you can work successfully. The Aussie 2-up is not one of them.

Philippines Travel: Gentle Giants Of Donsol, Sorsogon

Filed under: Great Travel Tips @ 1:21 am

Donsol used to be a sleepy coastal town in Sorsogona province in the southernmost tip of Luzon. Nobody knows Donsol except for, of course, its local inhabitants until a few years ago when tourists from all over the world began to flock this remote place to get a look-see at the largest fish on earth: the whale shark.

Before, fishermen in Donsol were ignorant of the ecological (and tourist) value of whale sharks. They used to hunt, slaughter and sell the poor gentle sea creatures to Japanese traders. Local folks call them “butanding” or “big fish” in the vernacular. Early sightings of the butandings were reported in the Visayan seas in Bohol further south. It was said that massive slaughtering caused their migration to Donsol waters.

Although, according to stories, the first butanding that was netted out in the area was also butchered. A marine biologist witnessed it and instantly recognized the fish as a rare marine specie. The biologist immediately reported the incident to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), an international organization promoting the preservation of the wildlife.

WWF wasted no time and launched an education campaign about the giant creature. After coordinating with the Department of Tourism, whale-watching soon became a tourist activity that allowed extra income for the people of Donsol.

Whale sharks can grow up to 50 feet in length. It has a rather wide mouth with hundreds of pointed teeth. It usually comes in grey or greenish brown color with white or yellow spots all over its body.

It earned the label gentle giant of the sea because of its harmless nature, considering it is of the shark family. It has nothing in common with whales except for its size, thus the name. Divers can swim and interact with them and are only known to sink deeper into the ocean when it gets upset. There has been no known attack on humans of whale sharks.

Scientists are still baffled with the large migration of whale sharks in Donsol. These fishes are known to prefer the cold waters, not the tropical seas that we have. One explanation would be the flourishing of planktons in the area. Planktons are organisms that fill the diet of the whale sharks. It is also hard to record the number of whale sharks that now thrive in Donsol. But early studies show that whale sharks can travel 14,000 miles in 40 months and is capable of breeding in different sea environments.

Whale sharks swim on the surface of the water especially during the morning and early afternoon. It opens its mouth rhythmically when feeding on the planktons and visitors may be treated to this wondrous sight if they spot the fish at the perfect time. But don’t expect them to jump up and down the water like the whales or dolphins. That’s actually another beauty of the whale shark experience because this makes it perfectly east and safe to get near them.

Eating Well While Traveling July 1, 2008

Filed under: Great Travel Tips @ 9:18 pm

When you’re on a full-blown vacation or even when you are just taking a weekend trip, your meals can be enjoyable milestones in your day rather than the subjects of your nightmares; and speaking of nightmares, the cost of eating can eat up a big part of your vacation budget. Following are some tips that will help you eat better, spend less and, as a result of the two, possibly even sleep better while on your trip.

Breakfast

Start your day with a healthy breakfast and, by definition, that excludes ‘just grabbing a donut for the road.’ Not that there is anything really wrong with donuts but donuts and pastries are high in sugar and fat — sugar may give you a morning boost but it doesn’t last long and half way through your morning you’ll find yourself looking for a second breakfast or a brunch.

Your best bet for breakfast is eating a balanced meal, just like your other meals of the day: Many hotels and motels offer you a complimentary continental breakfast — that just means a breakfast buffet with a good variety of foods — just what you need and what you should be looking for! Work your way around the buffet you’ll find them offering bread, waffles and English muffins right next to a toaster, some jams, jellies and syrups for spreading or pouring on your toasted choice, a variety of cold cereals with milk or sometimes hot oatmeal, some fruit for your side dish or for mixing in with your cereal and then there is yogurt, orange juice, grapefruit juice and tea or coffee. If you skip the continental breakfast and opt for a restaurant meal, the same rules about a balanced breakfast apply but you’ll be able to add eggs, bacon, sausage and table service to the mix.

With breakfast done, you’ll have a ‘full tank’ that will keep you going through your morning activities and keep you focused on enjoying a full schedule rather than being distracted by an empty belly.

Lunch

When you think about it, it makes sense to have your main meal of the day in the middle of the day — especially when you’re traveling. What you’re doing is packing in the calories and then, during the course of your active afternoon, burning them off. This also makes good financial sense; many restaurants have lunch specials that feature all the things you will be able to buy later, at supper time — at a higher price.

If you’re staying in a hotel or motel, ask the desk clerk or concierge about their favorite restaurant. You may get a tip about a restaurant that serves some local favorite foods; that’s a nice way to enhance your travel experience with some genuine local flavor.

The rule about eating a balanced meal works for lunch as well as it does for every other meal. You might start your lunch with a salad with a favorite salad dressing or a fruit salad or fruit cup or that salad might be a main course — there are some wonderfully filling and healthy (balanced) main-course salads with chicken, ham, bacon bits, seasoned croutons and a world of other ingredients. Depending on where you’re traveling you may just want to experiment a bit with some local favorite menu items — ask your waiter or waitress to suggest something and be sure to ask about ingredients if there is something you know you shouldn’t be eating.

Don’t skip dessert! A small dish or ice cream, with or without toppings or a small slice of pie or cake is a nice way to finish your lunch (remember, this is your BIG meal of the day).

Snacks?

“Just in case” foods are always a good idea when you’re traveling. You may be sightseeing or just traveling when you get that urge to “eat something.” Stopping and buying something is always possible but its really an unnecessary expense if you have a snack bag stowed away in your bag or backpack — besides, stopping along a tour route to buy something means your paying inflated tourist prices! The way to put together your own snack bag is to stop at a grocery store and buy some dried fruits, nuts, raisins, crackers and something to put on the crackers like peanut butter or cheese. Keep your snack bag handy!

Supper

After your big lunch you should be looking for a light meal to end your day — it’s good for your waistline and will give you a better night’s sleep. One great and economical idea for that end-of-the-day meal is to combine that trip you should have made to the grocery store for your snack items with some purchases for your supper. Get some tasty lunch meats, bread, cheese to make sandwiches and some fruit for dessert.

Many hotels and motels have small refrigerators in their rooms and many even have microwaves; when making reservations pick a location with these amenities and use them. Making your own supper can be a major savings to your vacation budget and may even allow you to save enough to spend an extra day visiting an attraction you might otherwise have to skip.

Home again!

It’s always good to be home and just in case it hasn’t occurred to you, you might look at some of these eating and spending tips and apply them to your eating habits and your food budget even when you’re not on the road.

Bon Appetit!
