How I Oversaw My Monthly Budget August 15, 2009

Filed under: Fortune, School of Self Improvement @ 1:48 pm

Doing my monthly budget has constantly been a pain, juggling between regular monthly bills and unexpected expenses. As soon as I received my pay, it was already spent. I get lots of bills every month and put them off to the last minute, then did them all in a hurry. As a solution I ended up taking up money from the next pay just to make it through. It’s not that I didn’t make enough money, it’s that I had no control of my budget. In the case of any emergency, landed me even deeper in debt.

Most of us have been in this position. We try to moderate our expenditure and be careful with our money, but long before month-end, the money is gone. Paying Off bills is a juggling act that we don’t have the time or energy to comprehend. There’s always one bill that was left out or delayed, one more expenditure we weren’t prepared for. With school supplies and fees for the kids, groceries, new tires for the car, and the rising cost of petrol, just making it from paycheck to paycheck is hard enough; saving money is out of the question. Meantime, debt is slowly building up. I asked myself how I can get my budget under control?

Luckily for me, I found a service which will help me manage my money more sagely and take away the strain of paying monthly bills, letting me concentrate on the things that really matter to my family. No more concerning over where the money will come from; I can finally relax, knowing that my finances are in good hands.

The financial planning process:
During your first consultation, your budget specialist will evaluate all of your existing debts and monthly payments and organize a program that works for you. They will handle your money, setting aside money for savings, emergencies, and long term investment, ensuring your family’s financial security. If you are planning a major purchase, this will be forecasted into your budget so that when you are ready to buy, the money will be there for you.

Your paychecks are typically deposited with your financial planner, and a separate account is set up for your living expenses. Your bills are directly delivered to your budgeting consultant for payment. Some budget services will even negotiate with your creditors to lower your monthly payments and reduce your outstanding debt. A affordable monthly fee is assessed for all these services.

For me, the most important monthly service my budget specialist provides is peace of mind. No more fuss with bill payment; I know my bills will be paid on time, and that I’ll have money in reserve for life’s little emergencies. My budget is finally under control, thanks to my financial planning service.

Compatibility Created to Endure May 29, 2009

Nobody can say I’m terribly happy being picky and remain an honest woman. However, I’m not unsatisfied with the reality of life, either. I only bring it up on the blogosphere as an ear-catching personal tidbit introducing what I am about to explain in grand style.

This time last week yours truly was talking to Trisha, thinking of signing up for Great Expectations Dallas. You prolly couldn’t guess that, I type to each of you as a happy member of the singles network. Totally, and I almost don’t believe it myself! It’s great! If you know me at all, perhaps you’re thinkin’, “You got some ’splainin to do, Lucy!”

Here’s how it went down, I noticed these Great Expectations Reviews and liked what I saw. They’re for the serious singles who think dating should mean something.

Because in all honesty I’d never been interested in the ridiculous nightlife ritual my friends and my family so aptly entitled “The Dating Experience.” I faced it more than anyone should. Each night friends ask, “You’re still single? ” and “You should date!”

“Baloney!” I banter right back, without missing a beat. “There’s nothing to date!”

“Whatever doofus,” they level with me. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

That’s just my sister The One-And-Only hah! Sandy Feldman. She sets the best ideas to my brain 99% of the time. Friends never fail to offer perspective. She made a good point, and I thank her for it.

Coming home to the meaning of this blog entry. As I selected from hundreds of outfits (hah) and desirable, honest singles for my first singles event with Great Expectations, I realized something honest. For the longest time, I hadn’t entertained any emotional great expectations for dating in the adventurous path of being human. Single life has its perks, especially with healthy optimism. Embracing your own great expectations makes a difference for those who believe.

What Motivates You to Action? May 21, 2009

Filed under: School of Self Improvement @ 7:37 am

Motivation is an acquired skill. In order to build it within yourself, whether its for your business or personal growth, you first must discover what it is that actually motivates you.

Ask yourself questions. What do I like to do? Doing more of what you like to do is probably the best place to start. Once you are able to identify the triggers, form daily motivation exercises that help to stimulate you.

We all suffer from a lack of motivation from time to time. It usually stems from a negative thinking process that we lull ourselves into. It’s important to refocus, regroup and pick an activity that you know will help in changing to a more positive mindset.

Try watching an uplifting movie, listening to your favorite music or reading material you know in advance will give you the inspiration and words of motivation that will get you pumped.

Whether its at work or in your business motivation skills are essential to reaching your optimum performance and gaining that winning edge. Today, in our busy world you have to motivate yourself if you want to move forward.

Look at Self-Motivation as a planned daily activity. Set aside time each day to pull yourself away from the pack. Even if it’s 15 minutes, take this time and visualize your desired outcomes.

I personal recommend first thing in the morning. There’s a lot fewer distractions and why not start your day off on the right foot. You’ll find as you engage yourself in this powerful regiment, your whole approach will change from a passive activity into an engaging process.

Once you’ve established this daily habit, why not try and increase the time you spend t 30 minutes or an hour if your can.

Multitask and work in a light exercise activity. By
combining the two, you’ll find your fitness motivation
level will benefit significantly. As you exercise, you
will be sharpening your mind just as much as you are
increasing the strength of your body.

Look to others for motivation. Find the leaders in your
fields of interest. Read and gain knowledge. Attend live seminars. It’s amazing how motivating it can be when you’re surrounded by like minded people.

Constantly look at new ways to feed your mind, spirit and soul. There’s been major advancements in understanding the inner workings of the human mind in just the last few years and how we can influence the changes we desire in our lives. The world is your oyster.

Taking The Coach Approach April 7, 2009

Filed under: School of Self Improvement @ 11:37 pm

When you use what you go through to grow through, you take the coach approach. I am suggesting that you hire your own counsel. After all, who else knows your dreams, goals, and intentions better than you do? Who else has access to your inner compass?

Yes, you have an inner compass. And it guides you along the river of life. When we pay attention to our emotional responses and our own ’self’ talk, we are using our inner compass. It’s called living life from the inside out. It’s using our brain for a change. That’s right, use your own mind to create positive changes within you.

Both being aware of how we feel and listening to our self-talk serve a purpose. The inner compass provides us with a powerful feedback mechanism, similar to a navigational system on an airplane. It lets us know whether or not we are on course, how far off course we are, and how much correction we need to make in order to reach our intended destination (and to achieve our goals). Learning to use these tools, we learn the art of coaching our self!

You may have heard the phrase, “It’s not that you got off track that matters, it’s how fast (and gently) that you get back on track.” So, when it comes to your goals and intentions, what is important is not whether you fall down, but what how you handle it when you do. Is your ‘Inner Coach’ doing its job well? Is it helping you get back up again? Or is it beating you up for falling down to begin with?

Is your inner voice helping you to feel inspired and encouraged? After listening to it, do you feel like a winner? Does it emphasize your strong points while gently and lovingly pointing out where you need to do some work? Are you learning anything from it? Train your ‘Inner Coach’ by telling it what you need in order to succeed! You are the foremost authority on yourself.

I’ve begun to dialogue with my ‘Inner Coach’ more often and am getting great results. We do things together too. We took a walk yesterday and we plan to go to the gym later this week. We’re making fast friends and I am achieving intended outcomes in my life. You too, have an ‘Inner Coach’ ready and willing to guide you gently through life. Just imagine, your own personal coach!

If our self-talk was broadcast to the world through a loud speaker, we would ‘get it’. We would be able to hear for ourselves some of the damage we do through our self-talk. Let’s tame our inner critic and form a healthy relationship with our ‘Inner Coach’.

Who Do You Think You Are? March 27, 2009

Filed under: School of Self Improvement @ 2:33 am

“I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific.” – Lily Tomlin

Who Do You Think You Are? Are you aware that you are constantly answering the question -“Who do you think you are?” With every thought you think, every word you speak, every action you take, you are expressing who you think you are. As you answer this question, you are at the same time answering the question – “What do you think you can have?” Your circumstances are always an exact match to the way in which you answer these two existential questions.

You are constantly telling the Universe who you are and what you can have with your thoughts and feelings. For example, if you think Feel Good Thoughts such as – I’m so lucky / I love my life so much / I always get what I want – then, in accordance with the Law of Attraction, the Universe will deliver to you circumstances of like vibration. If, however, your habitual Thought-Feelings center around complaint and disgust such as – Life sucks / I have bad karma / I never get a break – the Universe will bring you all kinds of things to be miserable about.

You are a Master of the Universe. Do you have any idea what a powerful being you are? Do you realize that the entire Universe is at your service? You are a fully empowered Master of the Universe, constantly creating your life in exact accord with your thoughts and feelings. You are Source Energy focused physically for the purpose of creating whatever you desire. You’re here to have fabulous adventures and fantastic experiences and you have an unlimited budget of Energy and Abundance.

It’s your life and you’re in charge. The position of Master of the Universe is not limited to a few extraordinary, highly evolved people. You are the Creator of your Life. You tell the Universe who you are and what you can have. Because the Universe knows you are a Master Creator, it fulfills your request without judgment. When you place your order, the Cosmic Café responds – Coming right up!

“Who you are speaks so loudly I can’t hear what you’re saying.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Actually, it’s who you think you are that speaks so loudly. We are limited only by our thoughts and beliefs, especially our self-image. You can change your self-image by repainting the mental picture you hold of yourself. It’s your picture and you can repaint it any way you like.

What I Know for Sure. Here’s a great affirmation to amp up your self-image. Write it down and keep it with you in your purse or wallet. Post it on your mirror, your computer, your cell phone. Make it the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing at night. As you say these words to yourself, deeply feel how wonderful and powerful you are.

WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE: I AM absolutely and eternally wonderful and worthy of all good things. I KNOW that I can be and do and have whatever I desire.

You Decide. So, what’s the real answer to the question – Who do you think you are? It’s that you are whoever you decide to be. So, you decide:

• Decide that you are absolutely and eternally wonderful and worthy of all good things.

• Decide that you are a fully empowered Master of the Universe

• Decide that you are the Master Creator of your own Life

• Decide that you can be and do and have whatever you desire.

Empowerment in an Unexpected Field March 4, 2009

Filed under: School of Self Improvement @ 11:38 am

Did you see the film, “Field of Dreams”? Probably. And, if not, I suggest that you rent the video. Even if you have not viewed the film personally, you at least know its most famous line, repeated often in the film and in our conversations: “If you build it, he will come.”

In the film, the voice did not say when or how or why or even who! The voice only said, “If you build it, he will come.” Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) agonized over the message, took actions that were ridiculed, and spent all his resources. (Do you know anyone like this in real life?) He did not discover nor do we as the audience know what the message really meant until “it” was built.

He trusted the process of his inner guidance, supported by a loving family, tenacity, curiosity, and disillusioned writer Terence Mann (James Earl Jones). And Ray built it. Then, not only did “he” come, but “they” came, filling the field with electricity that drew more people.

Had Ray trusted the paradigm which claims we must have all the facts and proof before proceeding, he would not have built the field. The film is about many issues: clarity of vision, dreams and dreaming, building and rebuilding, trust, goodness, relationships, hope, getting a second chance, taking risks, love, reconciliation.

It is a picture about positive power in an unexpected place.

What Comes First the Action or the Feeling? February 26, 2009

Filed under: School of Self Improvement @ 10:04 am

In other words, it is in the “doing” that we appreciate and learn the meaning of an action or activity, not simply in thinking about it.

It’s the action that preceeds the “feeling,” whether it’s the glory of victory or the agony of defeat.

Some people think and think about doing something and even imagine the feeling they will have when they engage in their specific activity.

Sadly, something seems to always hold them back from ‘doing’ and truly enjoying the feeling.

We all have talents and the capacity to employ those talents. In fact, we are blessed with talents by God who expects us to use them and share them with others. These talents unless used, shrivel away.

When we find ourselves ‘in the dumps’ one sure-fire way out is to help someone else. In “doing” so, you’ll learn the importance of what you did, you’ll see the effects of what you did and you’ll never forget what you did, likely encouraging and empowering you to continue “doing,” and defining your purpose in life. Tomorrow morning when you are in the shower, start to sing and enjoy your first of many good feeling of the day.
