FiOS TV February 10, 2009
In September 2005, Verizon put out FiOS TV to cater to a single market in Texas. Twenty-eight months later, over a million people across the US have subscribed to Verizon’s FiOS TV.
In the third quarter of 2007, Verizon surpassed Cable One to become the tenth largest cable provider in America, just on the strength of this technology.
Any one million can be drawn to FiOS TV’s offer; what sets FiOS TV apart is that the service uses fiber optics rather than cable. It gives FiOS TV that edge of crystal-clear digital imagery as well as world-shaking acoustics. Fiber optic networks render pictures on the screen realistically, with lifelike color and flawless sound.
FiOS TV subscribers are also treated to a vast library of the most recent top-grossing films, sports shows, children’s programs and more. FiOS TV comes equipped with a dual-tuner DVR too so that users can rewind, forward and pause shows. One can even record a show while watching another.
FiOS TV is also a veritable babel of over a dozen international premium channels like TV5, TV Japan, ART and RAI. What’s more, one can watch these channels, from ESPN to TNT, in eye-popping high definition resolution.
Verizon deserves to reap all its rewards; with this level of picture quality, customers are certainly not complaining.
